Windmill Palms (Trachycarpus fortunei )

Windmill Palms are moderate growing, reaching full height in about 10 years. They will reach a height of 20′. This particular one is about 3 years old.

They will deal with full sun, part shade is preferred.

They will tolerate short droughts once well established. Plant in March & April.

    This guy is slowly but surely growing - no problems with the temps down to the high 20s. The ice storm last year cost me a couple of fans but it’s fine.

    This plant passed the top of the fence this summer but only by about a half of leave length.

    The leaves are the same size, the stems they are on are getting longer.

    Nothing seems to bother this plant, I’d plant another if I had the room.
